Just before Allen's 60th birthday in 2016, Cathy gave a special tour of the Noah Purifoy Outdoor Museum in Joshua Tree. Allen's Non-Urban Renewal Project (NURP)

Begnning in 2015, Cathy Allen intervened at illegal dumpsites and abandoned homesteads around Wonder Valley, creating a series NURPs, shelter-like structures from found materials.

Tour the remains of the Dwellings project and an additional extant installation by Allen on our self-guided tour.

A new publication of this series will be available as part Conjuring Cathy Allen.

Cathy Allen's body of work, a window into her process and additional audio interviews inhabit her former studio in Wonder Valley.

Visit the studio on weekends from 11 AM - 5 PM and meet those closest to Cathy to share her art, ethos and impact on the creative climate of the Morongo Basin.
